About 2 years ago my best friend Molly and I went to a Hippo Campus show in Chicago. We didn’t even know who the opening band was until I heard them play their last song and realized it had been on my favorites playlist for a while! They’re music is fun and easy to listen to and they’re moving up in the music world and I hopefully will see them at some upcoming festivals

For about 5 years now, Vampire Weekend has been one of my favorite alternative bands. Their music is unlike any other. Their 3rd album blew up and also won a Grammy. Not to mention, they’ve put on some of the best shows that I’ve ever been to. Although meeting Rostam and Chris after the show wasnt all I thought it would be, it was still an amazing experience!

Lollapalooza 2013 was the first festival I had ever gone to, being only 15 it was very overwhelming but exciting at the same time. I saw Wild Belle, The Mowglis, Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix. The crowd for Vampire Weekend was very intense but made the experience even better! Phoenix also but on a great show and after seeing those two bands play live for the first time I became a huge fan! 1093296_551349058235708_207173386_o-1

Festivals are my absolute favorite way to go a spend a weekend or day with my friends, eat good food, and listen to awesome music. The Chipotle festival in 2013 was in downtown Chicago and was free! The food was awesome, and the music was even better! First up was The Mowglis and they killed it, later on was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., he’s not one of my favorites, but standing in the crowd next to us was one of the guitarists from The Mowglis! He was so nice and really laid back. Then, what everyone was waiting for was Walk The Moon. They put on an amazing show and everyone was into it!

Since the stage was pretty small it was an awesome show with a personal feel. Definitely one of the best small festivals that’s been to Chicago! I’m still waiting for the festival to come back, it’s 3 different locations every year. One of the really cool things about this festival is that it’s not only for music lovers, but for foodies as well. They have world class chefs come in and do demonstrations for an hour and entertain. It’s really a neat idea for a festival!
